For individuals : Vineyard worker Tour

You will first discover the work of the vineyard and the winegrower through an exhibition of traditional tools in the Winegrower’s Museum, housed in a 17th-century Gascon barn.

Next, various distillation methods are presented in the Alembic Museum, which is also the Château’s working distillery. Around ten stills are on display, including Armagnac stills used by Château Garreau and a reproduction of one of the very first stills ever used by humans.

The exhibition of original bottles is located in one of the estate’s oldest buildings: the Gayrosse farmhouse, built in the 17th century.

In the auditorium, you will discover:

Permanent and temporary exhibitions on the history of Armagnac and Floc de Gascogne.

An aroma game centered around the “Nose of Armagnac” to explore the rich bouquet of Armagnac.

A video explaining vineyard work and the distillation of Armagnac.

The Armagnac Ecomuseum is also an opportunity to discover the richness of the Armagnac terroir: a nature trail (with several route options, ranging from about 30 minutes to 1.5 hours of leisurely walking) winds through vineyards, ponds, and woods. It’s not uncommon to spot herons, ducks, or deer that inhabit the estate. You will also find a botanical trail with labeled trees and plants.

The Winegrower’s Tour is self-guided, using a booklet that provides detailed explanations. At the end of your visit, a tasting of the estate’s products is offered, giving you a chance to exchange with the hosts and ask any questions you may have.

Reservation recommended.

After exploring the Winegrower’s Museum, the Alembic Museum, and the exhibitions at your own pace, a guide will take you on a journey into Armagnac distillation. Most notably, you will discover the unique, century-old underground ageing cellar — the only one of its kind in the Armagnac region — where the estate’s Armagnacs mature. The tasting will take place in a very special area within the cellar... an experience not to be missed.
